It was great to meet and talk with parents at parent conferences!  Often times, meeting a student's parent can tell me a lot about a student so I am really glad that I met and spoke with many parents.  The Math 7.0 students started a new topic on ratios and proportions.  We reviewed the three ways to write a ratio and then shifted our focus to finding the Constant of Proportionality of a ratio table.  The Constant of Proportionality is the "constant" of the table (What are you constantly multiplying the x column by to get the y column?).  We will be using the Constant of Proportionality to see if the ratios in a table are proportional.  A few reminders: Unit Test retakes and corrections are due Tuesday (10/16/18).  Please note that I will not be grading retakes if the test corrections are not stapled to them.  I am looking forward to another great couple of weeks!  As always, please let me know if you would like to set up a meeting or discuss your student's progress in my class.

The Math 7.0 students have been busy!  I am so impressed by their willingness to challenge themselves and persevere through tough problems.  We spent a full week on adding and subtracting integers/rational numbers that ended in the first quiz of the year.  We then jumped straight into multiplying and dividing rational numbers.  The students benefited from reviewing how to long divide decimals and how to multiply fractions.  The students worked on an adding/subtracting integer maze all week.  This week, we will be preparing for conferences by organizing our binders and reflecting on our progress in math class.  I have also planned to incorporate chromebooks (finally!) into the daily lesson plans.  I have high expectations for my Math 7.0 students and I believe that they have the ability to become strong, independent thinkers.  As always, never hesitate to reach out about any questions or concerns that you may have!
